Dale Belford - Update
Dale Belford

Dale Belford

Goalkeeper Dale Belford has given the club further boost today after being given the all clear by his surgeon.
Belford had a scheduled appointment today and came out with the news that everything is in order and has been given the all clear to resume full training. Gary Norton commented: "This is the best news that we could have hoped for with regard to Dale. We are targeting his comeback game for around the 8th January, possibly in the Reserves, but we will see how he goes over the next couple of weeks in training. You have to be careful with backs but the surgeon says that everything internally has healed and we expect no further problems. Lets hope that is the case."

Belford's return could prove to be perfect timing with the loan spell of Gavin Saxby from Alfreton Town up on the 10th January. Norton added: "If all goes to plan the timing of Dale's return could be perfect. Sax would have been ineligible for the Trophy game and in any case, his loan spell is up on the 10th January so Dale could well be in line for a dream return against his former club Tamworth. .It's far to early to say yet but it is real a possibility. However, if he's not quite ready for it then we have reserve keeper James Pemberton who has done a tremendous job when called upon and gotten us through the 3 rounds so far."
