Simon Tucker has returned to the Moat Ground it was confirmed today. Gresley Rovers announced that they had been tracking their former striker and following the mutually agreed cancellation of his contract with Kidsgrove, Gresley were keen to sign up the striker.
Simon originally joined Gresley in the October 2000 and scored 27 goals in 58 appearances. After a brief return in February 2002, Simon has been on somewhat of a footballer’s journey since leaving the Moat Ground but is now coming home.

Gary Norton stated that “Simon is a proven striker and has regularly scored goals wherever he has played; he enjoyed his previous time at Gresley and struck an affinity with the Club and its supporters. He provides us with another option up front along with Nathan who has just joined us from Nottingham Forest”.

Mark Evans Chairman added that he was pleased Simon had agreed to return to the Club, where he had made so much of an impression on joining in late 2000. “Simon as kept in contact with myself and a number of the existing squad and I know that he will give us his best”.

Speaking to Gresley Rovers Online Simon said how much he was looking forward to Saturday and renewing his relationship with the supporters.

Both Gary and Mark were keen to express their gratitude to Kidsgrove for helping complete the administration with the FA so as to allow Simon to be eligible for tomorrow's match.
