Forsyth's season threatened by injury

Gresley Rovers defender Michael Forsyth could be out for the remainder of the season after picking up an ankle injury in the Moatmen's 1-0 defeat by Solihull Borough last night (Weds).
Forsyth, on loan from Burton Albion, hobbled off in the 84th minute of last night's game at Redditch United, but the extent of the injury is not yet known.

However, it is doubtful he will play any part in Gresley's weekend double-header when they host Tiverton on Saturday then travel to Weston-super-Mare on Sunday.

Said the Moat boss John McGinlay today: "Forsyth did not look good when he came off last night. It is his ankle that is the problem, but he also has trouble with his knee on that leg. He is going to see somebody about it today, so we don't know how bad it is. Sometimes these things just take a couple of days to clear up but other times they are more serious."

McGinlay was disappointed with last night's result has he thought his side deserved to get something out of the game after turning things around after half-time.

The home side dominated the first period, taking the lead in the 15th minute, but Rovers battled back after the break and had their chances to grab at least a point.

Said McGinlay: "I was pleased with the way we got back into the game and the players were sick afterwards because they came away with nothing."

McGinlay will check on Simon Tucker, Shaun Bedward and Danny Verity before Saturday, while David Donaldson and Neil Broadhurst should return.

Ian Bluck and Kevin Allsop played for the reserves in the 1-1 draw at Ilkeston last night, Allsop scoring in the 28th minute.

Bluck was taken off late on while Allsop played the full 90, although both reported stiffness afterwards.
