Yate pre-match news
The visitors to the Moat Ground tomorrow are Yate Town who are the bottom club in the league but Gresley manager Gary Norton is taking nothing for granted.
He said: “It was nice to get the win on Tuesday against Burton Albion in a friendly game and we played some great stuff but we did not get any league points. We are trying to keep the players’ feet on the ground but I would like us to kick on from the other night but Yate will be a different kettle of fish and we are taking nothing for granted.

“The mood in the camp is good and the confidence is high thanks to the new players who have come in. It doesn’t feel like we are where we are in the table. There is a new work ethic at the club and it’s a good place to be at the moment.

“I think someone is due for a hiding and hopefully it will come tomorrow, but Yate have also had two weeks off and may have changed things around.

“We have brought in seven new players and contrary to what people have been saying, we have not increased the budget. It’s been a case of hard work by myself, Steve Hinks and Alan Titterton.

“We now have options throughout the side with the exception of up front knowing that Shaun Harrad could be recalled by Notts County.

“The next six days are massive for us. Yate and Bedworth are down at our end of the table and anything we get from Solihull will be a bonus.

“I would take a scrappy 1-0 tomorrow and I hope the supporters will continue to be patient with us. I feel for the supporters because of our start and I’m determined we put on a show. It will be important to start the game well but there’s not much I can do after 3pm apart from try to motivate the players.”

Norton will have a full squad to choose from with the exception of Neil Kitching (family commitments), Nathan Tate (suspended). He has included youngsters John Branch and Liam Hebberd into the squad.

Gresley from: Belford, Branch, Wardle, Haynes, Smith, Cheetham, G White, Everitt, Doughty, Slater, Moran, Barrett, Holmes, Lenagh, Harrad, Hebberd.
