Rovers bidding to follow Boro
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers face up to the next stage of their epic Beazer Midland promotion battle tonight knowing arch-rivals Nuneaton Borough have already crossed the finishing line.
And the battle cry from Moat Ground boss Steve Dolby before the visit to Hinckley Town was: “Let’s make sure we join them there.”

Borough stamped their passport to the Premier Division with a 3-0 win against Dudley Town and Rovers will join them if they win and Barri fail to beat Stourbridge.

Dolby said: “Although we’ve had a brilliant season, it’s been one of the highs and lows and we have to make sure there isn’t another disappointment at the death.

“It wasn’t a nice feeling after we lost to Leicester on Saturday to have our fate taken our of our own hands. But after the win at Barri we control our own destiny again and I don’t think are in the mood for any more hiccups. We have players like Dave Swainston and Martin Devaney who’ve been in the Midland Division for some time and are anxious for a crack at the Premier.”

Devaney is one of Gresley’s injury doubts tonight after missing the Barri game because of a groin problem.
