Boss hangs back

Gresley Rovers boss John McGinlay today revealed today that he has resisted the temptation to bring in another striker before transfer deadline tomorrow.
The Moat boss has been concerned about his side's lack of goals of late but he has decided to keep faith with the strikers already at the club.

Said McGinlay, preparing for tomorrow's home clash with Racing Club Warwick: "Yes, I was tempted to bring in a striker before the deadline as we have not been scoring enough goals. In the last few games we have had plenty of chances but have not put them away, but I will keep faith with the lads we have."

The fact that Ravi Sangha and Neil Kitching continued their return to fitness for the reserves last night may have swayed McGinlay's thought's, as his side face six games in 12 days either side of Easter.

"Simon Tucker and Shaun Bedward have the shirts at the moment, but Paul Grant is in the frame and, with Ravi and Neil coming back, hopefully they will put the pressure on," he said.

"But there will be no deals done before tomorrow and, despite a few teams having put seven days notice in for our players, no-one will be leaving."

McGinlay will be without midfielder Mark Peters for tomorrow's Moat Ground clash as he is suspended for two games, while defenders Ian Bluck and Matt Warren are still out injured.
