Dolby is top boss

Gresley Rovers’ golden October has earned boss Steve Dolby a manager-of-the-month boost.
The award was announced today with Rovers sitting pretty on top of the Beazer Homes Midland Division.

Ironically, it comes within days of Rovers losing their unbeaten league record following defeats by Grantham and Bridgnorth.

But Rovers bounced back to form with a 3-1 win over Yate on Saturday to head the table by four points after 11 games.

Rovers also beat Kings Lynn away and Barri and Hinckley Town at home during their eight-match October programme.

But the biggest scalp of all was that of neighbours Burton Albion, whom the Moatmen vanquished from the Barclay’s Southern League Cup by completing a 4-2 aggregate win with a 3-2 Moat Ground victory.
