Evans out of title run-in
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Stuart Evans could have kicked his last ball for Gresley Rovers.
Evans, sidelined with a groin strain while playing a trial match for Derby County, has been told the problem could take four to five weeks to clear up.

Manager Steve Dolby said today: “A lot depends on how the injury responds to treatment, but it looks as if we may have to do without Stuart for the rest of the season.”

Derby have been showing an extended interest in him and could come in with a bid.

Top scorer Brian Beresford is doubtful for tomorrow’s trip to Blakenall (3pm) with an ankle injury.

Rovers need to avoid defeat to set up Monday’s visit of Hinckley Athletic as a title celebration.
