Frank fears pile-up

Gresley Rovers manager Frank Northwood believes a punishing West Midlands League fixture schedule may be taking its toll on his table-topping side.
Rovers won 2-0 at Cradley Town on Saturday but Northwood was not happy after seeing the champions forced to back-pedal for much of the second half.

He admitted: “We had to battle but we defended very well. I wasn’t happy with the front-runners, though. All these games on top of one another look to be telling on us and we didn’t produce the work rate we needed.

“Having said that, it was a difficult pitch to play on. You look for a result at places like Cradley rather than a good performance. We got the points which is more than a lot of sides will come away from here with.”
