Frank: keep it going

Gresley boss Frank Northwood has called for “more of the same” in the run-up to tomorrow’s West Midlands League trip to Oldswinford (3pm).
Northwood hailed Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Rushall Olympic as “our best performance of the season” and said: Beating Blakenall in the Vase on Saturday has given all the lads a lift.

“We played some super football on Tuesday and, while it’s going to be tough against Oldswinford, if we keep playing like that we’ll be all right.”

Oldswinford, one of West Midlands’ soccer nomads, are based at a Brierly Hill sports centre and Northwood said: “It’s a super pitch but you have to make your own atmosphere. I expect we’ll have more supporters there than them as usual.”

Skipper Richard Denby and striker Brian Beresford both face late fitness tests on ankle injuries.
