AGM
Chairman Mark Evans explained to the members present at the AGM that for the third year running the club had made a profit.
(This is just part of the presentation made to members)

The turnover was up by just over 25% on the previous year.

Sponsorship was up by 26% and there had been an increase of both perimeter advertising boards and programme advertisements.

The gates were up generating additional income and the various fund raising continues to bring in valuable funds for the club. The club shop was also doing well

Through prudent management the operating and administration costs had been reduced and, although the ground is looking the best it's been for some years, the ground expenses are also down.

Mr Evans expressed his thanks to all who help in any way at the club; the ground staff, catering, bar staff but he gave special thanks to his fellow directors who work tirelessly behind the scenes and especially for their support they give to him as chairman.

Mr Evans added: "We have a juniors section who have achieved their goals and continue to grow and move forward and we will continue to invest in them.

"Next year the club will be partaking in various initiatives that will hopefully increase interest in the club and bring in new partnerships and sponsors.

"Gresley Rovers is in its 120th year and we can learn from its glorious past but must remember that the club is being built for today and the future. There are still challenges to face both within the club and within football in general.

"We have at Gresley Rovers our juniors, our youth team and our reserves. We have seen huge progress in the reserves over the last few years with players coming through the system and hopefully they will go on to bigger and greater things. But they can put that progress down to their time they spent at this football club. That is so important to me and the rest of the directors.

"We need to invent a new partnership for the club. Not just between supporters and club but also between the players, management, supporters, directors, ground staff and sponsors. A brand new partnership; something unique and innovative that will carry this football club through the difficulties of its own existence but also through the difficulties of football in general.

"Can I remind you all "the future is ours!"
