Gresley Rovers moved to the brink of the Banks’s League title with a 2-0 win over second placed Wednesfield on Saturday.
Rovers opened up a 16-point lead at the top of the table thanks to goals from Paul Acklam and Andy Moore.

Gresley were the only side in the top nine to gain maximum points as third placed Oldbury drew 1-1 at home to Hinckley Athletic, Ilkeston (5th) lost 3-0 at Rushall, Lye (6th) and Chasetown (4th) drew 0-0, Darlaston (7th) drew 1-1 at home to Blakenall, Halesowen Harriers 1-1 at Pelsall and West Brom Town, who Gresley visit on Wednesday, drew 1-1 at home to Paget.

Delighted Gresley boss Frank Northwood said after the Wednesfield victory: “That was a super win for us. We mastered the condition and controlled the game right from the start.”
