Rovers admit they are unable to proceed with plans for a new stadium
A brief statement issued by the club has put an end to three years of promises by the board of directors that the gound would be constructed on 11 acres of council-owned land off Bridge Street, a mile from their existing stadium in Moat Street, Church Gresley.

Frank's New Moat Mission
Former director Frank McArdle has returned as a trouble-shooter to the Rovers. He has been given permission from the Derbyshire F.A. and has the full backing of the club and the local council.
Lance Luckhurst leaves the club.
Lance Luckhurst, Gresley Rovers' Financial Director has resigned.

Moat Ground
As part of a new drive to meet grading requirements for a return to the Dr. Martens Premier Division, fans are to get the chance to buy their favourite corner of the ground.
New Directors Arrive
Two new directors have been appointed to the board. Leicester travel agent Steve Brooks, already a vice-president, steps onto the board where he is joined by Mark Evans.
Moat Ground receives thumbs up
"Your ground can be good enough for Dr. Martens Premier Division football".

Frank to leave the Moat
Frank McArdle has announced that he will step down from his Gresley Rovers rescue mission at Christmas.

Rovers Future Looking Brighter
Rovers future seems to be looking brighter. Last week the club were in danger of going out of existence after being faced with a demand to pay off a debt.

January 2000

Kenning in Hospital Scare
Brian Kenning was admitted to hospital last week with an irregular heart beat. The latest news (Saturday 22nd) is that Brian is now sitting up and talking about football, and he should be out of hospital soon. Steve Spooner will take responsibility of the first team until Brian's return.
Big Kev makes a return to the Moat
Kevin Allsop made a return to GRFC coming on as a second half substitute in the 1 -1 draw with Bedford. His home return was during Saturday's match against Weston Super Mare which ended in a 0 - 0 draw.

Kearns fractures wrist
Gresley's boss Brian Kenning recently revealed defender Dave Kearns fractured his wrist in Tuesday night's 4 - 3 Derbyshire Senior Cup victory over Alfreton Town.
Rovers Future Looks Brighter
Manager Brian Kenning is sure that things are beginning to look brighter at the Moat. Mark Peters' decision to turn down a move to Stourbridge and pledge his immediate future to the Moat Men confirmed Brian's optimism. Peters is the latest in a long line of players who have decided to tough it out and pledge their support to the manager.
Kitching breaks leg
Neil Kitching will be out of action for a few weeks after sustaining a broken leg in Gresley's away defeat at Tiverton Town. He may require surgery to help the leg heal.

Ricky Marshall has left the Moat
Gresley Rovers striker Ricky Marshall has left the Moat Ground for Dr Martens Western rivals Solihull Borough.
Fordy leaves the Moatmen
Stuart Ford, arguably the best goal keeper in Dr. Martens league has left the Rovers and signed an 18 month contract with Conference side Hednesford.

Injury Woe!
Rovers player-assistant manager Steve Spooner suffered a broken arm in the 3-0 Derbyshire Senior Cup final second leg at Ilkeston on Monday night.
King to go under knife
Rovers striker Dave King will miss the rest of the season after is was revealed he must undergo a cartilage operation.
James will be Rovers' jewel - Kenno
Gresley Rovers boss Brian Kenning thinks he has unearthed a real gem after signing Bolehall Swift's defender James Roberts.

Gresley's Future is looking bright
At the recent AGM, Rovers' chairman Mark Evans announced that the club had made an operating profit the first for at least four or five years.
Ashby Grammar Awards Evening
Gresley Rovers sponsored an award to recognise contribution and achievement within school football at the school. The School was asked to nominate a winner and Jonathan was awarded on the basis of attitude and playing performance.
Moatmen aiming for top of class
Gresley Rovers are "returning to the community" with the launch of new awards recognising the contribution of young people to football.
Spooner calls it a day
Gresley Rovers' Steve Spooner has announced the nds of his playing career. The former Burton Albion favourite, who moved to the Moat Ground during the summer to be Brian Kenning's number 2 after 3 years at Eaton Park, has called it a day after enduring two injury-plagued seasons.
Rovers Millennium Cup Joy!
Gresley Rovers walked off with the Millennium Cup at Eaton Park last night and gained two new "fans" in the process.
