Gloucester City vs Gresley Rovers

Gresley Rovers in Action

Adie Doughty's 84th minute introduction proved an inspired substitution
by Brian Kenning. Within a minute of replacing Mark Peters, Doughty blocked
Gary Thorne's goal line clearance with the ball ricocheting into the net after
the Gloucester Skipper has seemingly cleared Dave King's goal bound header.

Rovers started well and were rewarded with a 24th minute opener.
Both Kevin Allsop and Matt Warren got in a header to help on Peter's corner
for Dave King, who gleefully supplied a close range finish.

However, two goals in a three-minute spell turned the game on
its head.

Gresley's inability to defend against set pieces saw Matt Rawlins
fire against the bar before Jimmy Cox deposited the rebound.

Matt Boyles trip on Cox gave Rawlins the opportunity to send Ian
Wright the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Man of the Match Peters almost levelled on 52 minutes when he
fastened onto a poor clearance by Ryan Gannaway, before sending an exquisite
chip into the top of the netting.

Wright denied Gloucester a two-goal lead in the 61st minute pushing
Cox's shot into the side netting.

Prior to their late equaliser, Rovers best chance to level came
when Peters low cross into the box into the box just eluded Mick Sandar when
the striker only needed the deftest of touches to score.
