Welcome to the Elvis Gresley Homepage!

Elvis Gresley is the Official Mascot of Gresley FC

Elvis with Pete RobinsonBorn in August 2001, he joined the football club in August 2004, thanks to Pete Robinson and his company Swadlincote Safe Scaffolding answering the club's request for help in funding his arrival and up keep.

Unveiled at the Moat Ground on the 18th August 2004, Elvis has since become the spiritual figurehead to the team and entertained the supporters at the Moat Ground with his style, charm, and panache.

His popularity has already spread beyond the Moat Ground and a tribute group for the highly impressive hound is playing the circuit around Burton and South Derbyshire.

He has now spread beyond the confines of South Derbyshire and even beyond the River Trent. The popular pooch has been requested to make a personal appearance in Stretton, not a swallow's flight away from Burton Albion's ground! The staff and volunteers at the RSPCA called on Gresley FC's mascot Elvis Gresley to see if he could help to find some volunteers, which they so badly need and were delighted when he agreed.

Ten of the kennels are in need of tiling and a volunteer who had carried out the work previously had retired so the staff are now asking for help in completing the work before Christmas.

In October Elvis was all shook up after achieving official recognition - from the Kennel Club of Great Britain, registering him on their database - making him a member of their 'Companion Dog Club' and asking him to help promote good dog ownership and appear at Crufts.

Elvis Gresley also helped with the switching on of the festive illuminations at Swadlincote in November 2004, when he joined Chairman of the Council Jean Mead to flick the switch and spark the festive illuminations will into life.

Former mascot, Gresley Bear has now retired and was last seen living happily in Gresley Wood, with Elvis keeping him up to date with results and all the progress being made.
